Day 1: Arrival in Arba Minch
  • Arrive in Arba Minch (flight), a town located in the Southern Nations, Nationalities, and Peoples' Region (SNNPR) of Ethiopia.
  • Check into your hotel and rest after your journey.
  • Depending on your arrival time, you may have the opportunity to explore Arba Minch a bit, perhaps visiting the nearby Nechisar National Park or taking a boat trip on Lake Chamo, known for its population of crocodiles and hippos.
Day 2: Arba Minch to Turmi

After breakfast, depart from Arba Minch and head towards Turmi, a town located in the Lower Omo Valley.

En route, you can stop at Konso, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its terraced hills and traditional Konso villages.

Continue your journey to Turmi, which is home to the Hamar people, known for their unique customs and ceremonies. Arrive in Turmi and visit the Hammer tribe interact with the local community.

Immerse yourself in the rich culture and traditions of the Hammer people.

Overnight in Turmi.

Day 3: Excursion to Karo and Omorate

After breakfast, embark on an excursion to visit the Karo tribe, known for their body painting and elaborate decorations.

Spend time interacting with the Karo people and learning about their culture and way of life.

Afterward, continue to Omorate, a town located on the banks of the Omo River, where you can visit the Dassanech tribe, also known as the Dassanach or Galeb people.

Explore Omorate and its surroundings, and interact with the Dassanech people to learn about their traditions and customs.

Return to Turmi in the evening for dinner and relaxation.

Day 4: Turmi to Jinka

After breakfast, depart from Turmi and head towards Jinka, a town located in the heart of the Omo Valley.

En route, you can stop at Key Afer, a town known for its weekly market where you can see various tribes coming together to trade goods and socialize.

Arrive in Jinka, check into your accommodation, and spend the evening exploring the town and its surroundings.

Day 5: Mursi Village and Jinka

Today, you'll have the opportunity to visit a Mursi village, one of the most well-known tribes in the Omo Valley known for their lip plates.

Spend time interacting with the Mursi people, learning about their culture, and witnessing their traditional practices.

Afterward, return to Jinka and visit the South Omo Research Center and Museum to learn more about the diverse cultures of the region.

In the evening, you can relax and enjoy your last night in the Omo Valley.

Day 6: Fly back to Addis Ababa

After breakfast, transfer to Jinka Airport for your flight back to Addis Ababa.

Upon arrival in Addis Ababa, you can either catch your connecting flight home or extend your stay in the capital to explore more of what Ethiopia has to offer.
